What to Expect

First fitting: 2-3 months prior to your wedding

During the first bridal fitting appointment, I will assess the gown and talk through what types of alterations may be needed. I will carefully pin the dress to achieve your desired fit – this may include corset and bust sculpting, taking-in or letting-out the bodice, waist, or hip silhouette, neckline shaping, strap or sleeve adjustments, and of course, the hemline.

Be sure to bring your wedding shoes and any specific
undergarments you plan to wear on the big day.

Based on the fabric details and embellishments, the dress
construction, and the scope of work needed, I will provide a quote and discuss your alterations timeline. (a rush fee may be added to bridal alterations within the 2 month timeframe).

Second fitting: 4-6 weeks prior to your wedding

When you return to the sewing room for your second fitting, your dress may look a little deconstructed. But not to worry, your alterations are “in progress” and I will be able to make any adjustments necessary to the fit of your gown before finalizing the changes. Don’t forget your wedding shoes and undergarments!

Your hem will be complete so together we can design your bustle. I will show you different options that will compliment your gown like the traditional / American over-bustle, French under-bustle, and ballroom bustle. With each unique gown, there is a unique bustle. Whatever style you choose, your dress will be ready for the dance floor.

Half of your payment will be collected.

Final fitting: 2-4 weeks prior to your wedding

The big reveal! At your final fitting, I will ensure the garment is to your liking and make any final adjustments, if needed. I will show you step-by-step how to bustle your train and help to take a detailed video for day-off reference. I strongly encourage you to bring along your Maid of Honor or someone that will be there to help you get ready on the day of your wedding.

Final payment will be collected and you will leave with your dress, one step closer to the big day!
